|
|
I have heard that BITS Dubai is a franchisee, which means that it uses the name "BITS, Pilani" only and it has nothing to do with BITS itself. It is actually run by the people of the Gulf countries so it has nothing to do with the BITS administration and the opportunities that we get in BITS Dubai are also comparably less.
So the campus value is not of that status as those of BITS Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad campuses.
Yesterday when I was sending my application, my uncle scared me from doing so after telling all this. I was also not willing to do so because of the very high fees of BITS Dubai.
Well I am from India with PCM aggregate 84% and total aggregate 87%.
Please guide me if it is true. Also looking at the fees I am scared. Not only that my trip from India to UAE and all other expenses including the hostel fees and other expenses will cost above 20 lakhs.
Now is it worth persueing a BE degree at the cost of 20+ lakh rupees. Please help me out.
I appeared for BITSAT got 260.
Should I wait and watch the show? |

first of all it is not BITS Dubai it is BPD.BITS Pilani-Dubai.Dubai is one of the BITS Campuses. Everything is as followed in BITS Pilani. We have been given an A Grade by NAAC(National Assessment and Accreditation Council), an autonomous body estd by the University Grants Commission(UGC) of India to assess and accredit institutions of higher education . BITS Pilani along with its campuses in "DUBAI" and Goa have been given "Grade A".
NAAC visited Dubai from Dec 9-11, 2008. Even i had an 88% aggregate in XIIth, 87% PCM and an equally good score in BITSAT.and im in BITS Pilani Dubai and I have no regrets about the same.
The fees is high.yes.after all it is not India where ur staying.and the facilities out here are much better than what u can get in any college in India. We have better labs, single rooms for all students, 24*7 AC all around the campus and hostel bulidings.
We follow the same format as BITS Pilani in all our exams etc. The college is run by ETA-NET and the BITS administration combined and so is not just a franchisee.
At the end it is ur decision .its u who gotta decide wot u want to do in ur life. You can always wait and watch, but at some point you have to take the right step, the right decision which shapes up your future.
I hope i answered all your queries. Do post in any other queries if you got any!
Cheerz! _________________ _________________

As per the guidelines of the UGC a foreign campus of an Indian university can't transfer its students to the main campus. This is as per UGC guidelines published in 2000. _________________ Arjun A.Goyle

It is true that it is cheaper in INDIA.
But The degree here is "Equally Recognized" as that in India. In fact you get the same degree and so its nothin like ndian campuses r more recognised. _________________ _________________

i beg to differ on this point. it might be true to a certain extent that the dubai campus may not be as popular as Pilani.Pilani has itz own reputation. But no doubt the facilities out here are much better than most of the Indian Colleges. Our college is equally reputed becoz after al we r BITS as well.
We have air-conditioned single rooms. Our whole academic block is air-conditioned as well. We have better hygiene conditions here at Dubai. The cleanliness here is no doubt better. We have our own Laundromat and Clinic on campus. Plus the same facilities available anywhere around the world.
And so its not right to say that "life in pilani, goa, hyd campus will be much better". _________________ _________________
