BITS, Pilani - Goa Campus to host BITSAA Global Meet 2010

Hi folks,

I would like to share this piece of hot-out-of-the-oven news with all :

Most of you know about BITSAA International as a global non-profit body of alumni from all BITS campuses that works to unite BITSians all over the world, relive the passion we share, build connections that can help each other and give back to BITS a better infrastructure and higher quality of education.

The BITSAA-Leaders have zeroed down on BITS, Pilani - Goa Campus as the venue for the first-ever "BITSAA Global Alumni Meet 2010" sometime in 2010.

The details, theme, ideas etc for the meet are being discussed and a highly enthusiastic team of senior BITSians from India and Bay Area in US are core planners of this super-mega event.

This meet, inspired from similar hostings by most IITs once every few years will provide the platform for ideas to be exchanged among BITSians and will corely involve BITS, Pilani administration for the development of the Institute and fast placing it in the league of the best around the world. Ideas, suggestions and comments on this first-of-its-kind event are welcome from all BITSians.

Another first from any private Institute in India - at such a large scale!

I think BITSAA should also plan events like Pan BITS on the lines of Pan IIT which has been started by the IITs and is held in big cities like mumbai.

@rash : Sure! BITS students on-campuses will be required to make this historic event a success, especially Goa Campus folks since you guys will be the host.A 30-member team of BITSAA Exec can't handle this, so they will require all help possible. Just watch out for further communication when you get back to campus.

I always hear from my friends in IIT that its very easy for them to get foreign intern but bitsians do not go for it coz they have PS1 and PS 2. But it is said that foreign internship helps in on campus placement a lot .So something should be done in this regard like opening up of nodal body of AISEC at all campuses.Bcoz BITS also has a brand name like IITs
