want placements---->stay away frm goa pure and simple

hey is it true that pilani campus students are not allowed to participate in college fests of other universities?

sorry if the question is not relevant to this thread, but i want the answerrrrrrrrr!

WHat crap!
Pilani students have gone to top competitions in IITs?IIMs etc etc and won top prizes.Recently 2 teams won medals in RoboGames , San Jose .

nw did u mean takin part in othr coll representin bits.or takin part in other colleges representing thier colleges ?.coz u askd if bits students were allowd to take part in othr fests ?

look guys lets get it straight.
PLACEMENts---on campus-->43-50(plus off campus placements,figures not known atleast i dont know)
on campus max salary--->wud be close to 10-11 lakhs
AVG SALARY--->for most branches its close to 4 and cs and is its 5.
no of companies visited-->22(cud be more but i dont think its above 30)(after recession)
bfore recession no of companies that came-->45 and cent placements
P.S-->the avg salary and max salary are for the time bfore recession.(even after recession it was almost the same(could be lower,not more pakka) with fewer numbers obviuosly)

FACT: placements not good enough,infact quite bad.

coming to ur overall development at bits---> its quite good if not gr8 but again it has its drawbacks.
FACT: our college festivals our not huge owing to the fact that the campus is new,it may improve and infact it is improving.
FACT:clubs and depts are very good
OVERALL wud say 7/10 for extra curricular development

INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL(or ur so called study environment):@bits ull find students with aieee ranks from 1000-8000(10%-20%) and and above mostly in the category of ranks 9000-14000(mayb higher). these r guesses though but quite accurate i think.so we dont have ne basis to boast that we posess a mind-boggling intellectual capital.

FACT FACT FACT:bits goa isnt next after iit it is BITS pilani and that is a FACT. ppl may argue that it is the same university but heck, bits goa aint pilani atleast not now.

HIGHER STUDIES: our campus ,well i dont know how any1 can say if u want to go for higher studies come to bits goa. frankly speaking i dont see how its better than hyd when itll come to cat coaching(this is not to say that hyd is btr;goa and hyd are almost equal (goa is btr a lil bit))

Y U SHUD JOIN BITS GOA: although this may all sound gloomy but the students here in goa are excellent ok theyve not had glittering jee ranks or watever but dont we have bad performers in 10th boards who top the jee. the students here are very motivated to excel although the placements side eclipses that fact. many of our students go to various other festivals and win accolades(not me) Razz

, this site itself is an example brilliant site everything at bits is done by the students and theyve done a fantastic job about it. u will learn many things although what remains a fact is whether ull get opportunities to use those things(placements,our own fest etc are not gr8 presently)students here aint ur usual book mug exam vomit kind but yea extra stuff they r quite good.

P.S:these are my viewpoints
it maybe contradicted by the fact that many companies said (yahoo for instance) that students are not that good but still took 1 or 2

overall i wud rate my college at 7.5
and yea
goa<pilani<iit nothing changes that (not including new iits)

if u want to come to to goa dont be sad at all
but dont be too happy either
its how u see it- half empty or half full
for me : doesnt matter i just drink it up frm a bottle its always full Razz
