Would put IIT-G above NIT-T and BPGC :IIT-G has better placements/faculty/foreign univ admits/facilities + brand value _________________ The Shadow returns.

hypocrisy at its VERY best!
"wait for a few years to come to conclusion" you first say, and then next sentence, "pilani will remain the best, and Hyderabad will go ahead of Goa"! well, my son, first learn to be true to your words.
and btw "cum" is NOT a decent word dude _________________ KK

I am not a BITSian as yet, but I hope to be one this year. If I do get a choice, I will join the goa campus (for a million reasons).
So I don't know if I have the "right" to say this as yet, but I still will.
Be it Pilani campus/Goa campus/Hyderabad campus, as long as the knowledge you get is the same, the whole feel of the name BITS PILANI is there, how does it matter what campus! _________________ everything is relative |

Here is a brief analysis of BITSAT vs JEE
This analysis is on the basis of what I experienced as a student appearing for both exams. I am layman, and please do forgive me if I get my facts wrong or if this offends you in any way.
Paranoid people in India say IIT is the best because its entrance exam is the most difficult to crack. I disagree. Here is why
1) Okay, the difficulty level of questions asked in JEE is higher than BITSAT. Agreed, but then that is compensated by the higher cutoffs in BITSAT compared to JEE.
2) IIT-JEE has around 180 questions (keeps changing every year) to be solved in 2 rounds, i.e. six hours. In BITSAT, one has to solve 150 questions in 180 minutes
To crack JEE, one needs IQ.
To crack BITSAT, one needs IQ + accuracy with speed
3)BITSAT has en eligibility of 80% in board exams, for JEE you need 60%.
4) To get a selection in JEE, even if you're clear with 60% of your syllabus, you can make it through, but for BITSAT, one must be clear with all topics as the cutoffs are high and a 60% score will not suffice.
So I feel cracking BITSAT is a touch more difficult than cracking JEE.

I don't know how JEE has become in the past few years. But I was the first batch to have a paper without the Mains exam. But throughout my coaching I did a LOT of Mains qns and was pretty good at that.Has helped me a lot.
Do you people still do those crazy Mains problems in coaching? _________________ The Shadow returns.

I really dont feel so. JEE has dropped its standars a LOT! When we practiced questions in our coaching, it gave a completely different feeling of the exam than the real exam itself. Over the past few years, JEE has definitely changed and for the worse.
We still did those crazy mains problems but the exam wasnt the same. _________________ Alok Sharma
