I fully agree with Ankur who wrote:
"Anyways, to achieve what you want, you should always be aiming for the higher and not stay back at the cutoff region. Give your best shot and do well."
I feel every aspirant usually gives his/ her best at all three important exams " IIT, AIEEE and Bitsat" WITHOUT thinking of outcome(s).
My info is that the performance of any candidate is comparable at these three tests - though there are and will be several exceptions of people doing very well only in one and flopping at the other two.
The emphasis NOW should be on preparation. Can some seniors throw light on the subject whether candidates who had NOT taken IIT coaching do routinely do well at bitsat. Leaving exceptions aside is the general trend the other way- i.e people doing well at bitsat are usually the ones who had gone through IIT coaching? |

Well, it is a well established fact that without proper guidance a student cannot be fully prepared for the exams. The guidance could be in the form of coaching or from the seniors who have already trodden the path. A student taking coaching for IIT is aware of what kind of questions to expect in the entrance. Some teachers do tell the students about how the paper for BITSAT comes and prepares them for that as well. The type of questions for BITSAT n JEE are quite different and to do well in either of them you need to be prepared with all the "types" of questions that they are throwing at you. The preparation for both of them is the same(well almost the same), with same syllabus and similar depth in the various topics. Its just the framing of questions and the time constraint that differs. So if a student has been preparing for IIT, should do well in BITSAT as well because his level of preparation is at par with most of the students. However, if he is under prepared with the skills needed for the exam, there are chances he may do badly. _________________ Ankur Murarka

I feel that JEE coaching is very useful for BITSAT.However to get the maximum marks in BITSAT one needs to do well in Eng/Logic , because even these can contribute significantly to the overall score. _________________ The Shadow returns.

Well, yeah arihant should be good enough for your preparation for BITSAT. And the date is upto you. Maybe in that one month you would get exhausted and just quit studies n all that(thats what happened with me actually, ). But if u remain focussed for that month then its the best period to give the test. Whatever date you choose, dont take it in the first n last week. Rest its all upto you. _________________ Ankur Murarka

I'd prefer 2 weeks gap, otherwise it becomes a drag.Make sure no other exams are clashing _________________ The Shadow returns.
