New moderators!

On an unrelated topic, I have some work for the new mods and anyone else interested in contributing. The sticky posts in the Featured section have been rather helpful last year. They have been a comprehensive and an all-in-one source of info. But in the replies following these posts, a lot of interesting info has been discussed pertaining to the topic, but not integrated into the main post. Hence one has to go through the entire thread to get the whole picture.

Could you guys go through these posts and include all the new info in the main post (You can edit the first post as mods). Be sure to add an UPDATE : at the bottom and add your gathered points.

Also we need a comprehensive guide (combining all of the sticky stuff on the forum) before the first iteration is out. Answering the same questions over the years is pointless. We essentially need a MEGA guide which is well categorized.

Let me know how this can be organized. Everyone can contribute, not just mods.

Sensible guys who are regular on the forum and contribute to the community automatically qualify for the position of moderator. There is no "method" to pick them.

However we plan to introduce a rating system for all users whereby they can rate and get rated (by a like/dislike option) for every post. Guys who get a certain number of "like" ratings will automatically become mods. And those with a negative rating will be banned.

This way there will be less of a "dictatorship" and the forum will essentially be a democracy with users themselves electing their leaders and banishing the bad guys.
