ok iu want to noe bt inside story ?? nvidia went to goa ( a eee recruiter ) tuk 2 ppl nd said we rnt satisfied with the quality .. nd threatend not to come again ... dude u dnt have cse do feel least botherd bt placements ... eee guys at pilani find placement in a gud eee company tough wt is goa in front of them ?? nothing ... 4 yrs or whatever u say .. u clearly lack knowledge and are too stubborn to noe that ur viwpoint is wrong ... fine enjoy ur google dream is all i cn say ... nd see what happens after 4 yrs ...u cnt compare the 2 colleges neday ( nd beleive me the comparison is on the same liine as iit bombay with iit guwahati or even worse ) i never said my college is gud ... i never say this stuff cz i am not like goa pl who keep in blabbering bt goa wherevr they cn find a p[lace to .. i ws just trying to throw sum sense into ur mind .. bt u wont listen ... for ppl leaving iit g or roorkee ... on i think there no pnt in leaving iit unless u r getting sumthing rlly obscure like mining .. but ppl still do it ... and what r they dng it fr ?? pilani .. ask how many ppl at goa r like this ... u will get the ans ... perhaps obne guy rahil left 1992 jee nd tuk cs at goa cz he cudnt in pilani but then he is brilliant in cse ... so in those cases it is acceptable .. again i said no point in arguin ... do whatever u feel like !

placement reality at goa frm insider .. nd certainly first yr placement is not an excuse ! infy case..they deduced their pay ppackages for gooa ( read infosys reduced ) ..the microsoft div that visited goa ws MSIT .. the worst div of misrosoft goes to crap colleges ... nokia offering 3.5 lakh .. nd companies making 2 sign boards for goa placements shclum shell exxon mobil jp morgan goldman sachs citibank pwc delloite etc the above companies dnt even visit goa ! .. nd fr ur info schlum takes 6-7 ppl not 1-2 eee people CANT get into ms/yahoo/hp .. even into pilani .. its not allowed ! dude 4 yrs or whatever u cnt even think of comparing in ne way .. dellotie takes 11-12 people jp morgan takes dualites.. even dualites are prefferd over goa guys ... now say wt u want to |

Ahhh....Dats my boy...Something interesting to reply too..
Simply shows the post of a first yearite newbie, whos jus frustatated becoz mommy din wake him up fr breakfast on the bed.
About placements,
I accept what is the present scenario but i disagree on the future scenario.
I"l gv u some facts with numbers & not random statements out of the sky.
MSIT visited campus & tuk 8 guys at 8.6 some lpa.
MSIT according to the above guy is worst...ahem who the f*** payes 8.6 lpa for worst kinda job..According to me guys here are fightinf for more salary & not work becoz Yahoo pays 6 lpa nd according to u is a better company but den on the other part it pays less so according to ur number theory , it shud be worse than Micrsoft.
MSIDC which you are boasting off dat comes to pilani nd offers 12 lpa, go and find out wats the number of guys it takes & dont talk of MSR becoz it comes to pilani & takes onle ME, so you are out of figure.
On MSIDC, some 16 guys from goa only were offered internship, of which i have heard only one or two joined, rest din even go for it including me becoz of other commitments.
And yeah one of the guys of my batch already placed dere.More numbers wil come soon.
Ahhh... I love writing about Microsoft..Ain't i...LOL...
Nokia offering 3.5 lpa, dude if company gives dat much to freshies dats d onle figure dey"l give. U are immature over how comapny deals.. You hold a nokia cellphone & you see boards of nokia aroun here n dere doesn't mean nokia will pay you high as a freshie..These kinda companies have 40% annual hikes in salary, majorly this tendency can be seen in comapnies hiring fresh electronics guys.
Infosys cutting packages...Lets see how many will join it..A Handfull only & about figures Infy offered 4.2 lpa fr CSE/IS & 3.6 for Non CS guys. Thats dere regular slab.
About the companies that does'nt visit goa...I really don't like to comment on dat..becoz u exactly don't even know why they don't come to campus & how easily they can be brought to campus.
I have to face placements in the present scenario, i m not worried & guys like you have 3-4 yrs down d line pissing in ur pants right now makes me feel sad dats wats happening to freshies joining in who are being sissy day by day.
On some other facts let me gv u some more numbers..
Our students went on a crazy ride to bag sponsors & we came up with 14 laks fr one of our fest.Pilani cud bag 8 laks even with the help of so seniors..but mayb dats becoz of pilani being in a village..Ahhh accepted but then who cares mayb we"l hit 20 soon & join the A+ grade of colls with sponsors.
On research competitions, we are fuckin crazy there too giving an equal bite to nebody..
Recently, in a research competition of Intel, where only invited 14 best colls of india can participate 3/16 were from goa number equals IITD & pilani no students.
Now dnt give me, Pilani has aditya birla scholrships.. dey recv dat becoz we aint allowed to fill dat i think.
About B-plans, Pilani holds an upper hand becoz of MBA guys & a kinda tradition being followed dere to concentrate on soft skills though we are catchin up dere too but might take some time (by some time.. i mean 3 yrs mayb)
About GRADS Going US :
More number of students from goa being offered MS/Phd by Stanford..
BITS-Pilani alumni is even proud of number of guys from goa gettin into universities outside just in the first year becoz sitting from outside everybdy expected students of goa to be good for nothing.
Around 60 odd students have been offered courses at frgn universities out of 400 odd guys who were eligible to apply for the same.
Pilani has around 100 odd guys in one fall but then they have 700 applicants eligible which will be d same number in goa from next apping period & pilani includes passouts apping too i think into that number.
All in all, its not about numbers...Its about believing in ur alma mater & making it a brand...If u think ur college/ur university is lagging behind in some race.. take a leap..grab the opportunity & try to get things moving on the right path..
Sitting, eating ur food mess & cribbing about wats around you, disappoints students who want to do something for there alma mater..
We never say on this forum JOIN US becasuse we are from goa, we screwed up a few things here and dere nd we want you to do the same.
BITS is such a reputed college that it carves you, enhances your skills & make you a level apart from rest of the guys.
BITS has such an atomosphere dat it does'nt need a dropout from IIT to justify its intake quality.
BITS Can even make a perfect student out of a guy who dsnt even gt into regional colleges..
So the choice is in ur hands...U wanna join nething else..Ur choice..Becoz BITS Brand ain't gonna change even if 10-15 or even 1000 guys stop & join something else...
BITSian by definition is who shares BITS-pilani as his alma mater.
BITSian is not some one who joined BITS becoz he din get into IITs or some other crap.
We are here to create awareness about BITS Courses & its campuses becoz i know when i go back home and say i stdy in BITS-pilani..They say..What the f*** is dat???
Im not here to create awareness about goa..we are here to create awareness about BITS,Pilani ..our university..
If ppl think we give biased opinions...Stop reading this & do watever u want.
Those he think we wrk to get goa standards high.
I can bet this forum wud have resulted in improving the cutoff & quality input of dual students at pilani and goa both rather den engineering courses at goa.
(Becoz i know everybdy dsnt make bold decisions & join a new college)
So in a way...we are hepling our sister campus in attaining better intake of students.

"lack of knowledge" "stubborn" "throw some sense into your mind" - Nice comments. Unfortunately, all that was conceived solely on the basis of placements. Aren't there other things to a college?
Why base the whole argument on placements? Does Mr Goel think that Goa's placements will never look up? That was the FIRST placement, for god's sake. We had 100% placement. IIT G has 40% first placement. Do the math. Placements will only improve with time. Why ignore such a mundane observation? By the time freshers pass out, things will obviously be better.

I am afraid a lot of what Mr Goel has to say stems from a false sense of superiority of being in pilani. He wants to drill into us that - look we're better than you cause we're in pilani. He sprinkled a few placement hiccups of Goa to make his post look plausible.

just one thng... ve have a common admission test , also there are loads of ppl getting better scores than you and joing the Goa campus instead of Pilani.... does this statement not compare the students in different campuses incorrectly??
